“Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going“, John 12:35.
“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him, there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth“, John 1:5-6.
Light is used to symbolise God, holiness, and truth. Another attribute of God’s light is that it is a revealer. It reveals things in the dark.
God’s light searches the deep to reveal things hiding away the scrutiny of the mind’s eye. When the light of God is performing the function of revelation in a person’s life, it shows things going on in the person’s life that he or she might not be aware of.
Human spiritual awareness has its limits and this too depends on the maturity of a person. We call on God because we know that certain things are not right but we do not know what they are. God then takes the role of our Helper and allows His light to shine on that situation.
When the light of God is cast on whatever dark area of your life, the things that were there in the dark remain. The light only reveals them so that they can be handled, reformed, restored, or destroyed.
This is how we discern the light of God operational in our lives. It reveals. It exposes. It brings to the open hidden things of the dark.
The light of God will reveal the defects of your character if you are sincere about transformation.
If you allow God’s Spirit to work on your mind, the light of God will reveal the negative patterns of your thought life and the mental strongholds ruling your thinking.
If God wants you to change an environment or cut off associations, the light will reveal the poisons that such environment or association is pouring into you.
If God wants to raise your arm over the enemies in your life, the light will expose who and what and how and where the evil is coming from.
Because God cooperates with us in giving us victory, we have to be aware of what is in the darkness. That way prayer and faith can support the light of God in finally casting away that darkness in our life, whatever it is.
If the light in your life is not revealing things, you are dealing with a false light. There are false lights in the world now. False lights in religion and sects.
“See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness“, Luke 11:35.
